| Hey everyone, I just need a little outside input. I'm trying to decide on what laptop to get and am at a crossroads. I'm looking into the Dell M1710 gaming laptop or a more gaming driven laptop company. The thing is, I need something that's good for both gaming and doing school work on. I know Dell's laptops come with Windows XP Media and you can get Microsoft Word for pretty cheap. I was just wonder if anybody knew just how good their laptop was for gaming. Since gaming laptops are so high priced I don't want to be disappointed with something that is so hard to upgrade, but I do need something to get me through school also. If anyone has any info at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

You should (in my opinion) go with the gaming computer if it's just a software issue. Your a young guy right, so your probably tech savey. Do some research into torrents (if you don't already know about it), I don't promote the use of torrents but you can actually download most softwares (even games most games) with torrents, it's free, usually it's safe (you should scan the files that you downloaded anyways).
Again, I am simply telling you to look into them, most files downloaded with torrents are pirated and I don't endorse or promote them (I don't want to get in trouble) but just a thought. If you are willing to break the law, then getting the gaming laptop is the way to go -- you'll probably find most the softwares being shared with torrents. My "friend" downloaded Microsoft Word through torrents so you should have no problem finding it ("he" said it worked fine).

| Appreciate your input, I have a friend who builds computers and I talked to him. He said he has most of the software I need, so I'm going to go with the gaming computer. Thanks again. |

i think making a laptop is harder then making a computer, but i don't know, i've never tried to open up a laptop to see where everything is, computers are ez though
